SAML SSO on the platform

You can use your own third party identity provider (IDP) or service provider (SP) to integrate with platform services.

The platform uses the following two services as an IDP and an SP:

SAML provider platform service
Identity providerIdentity Service
Service providerPassport Service

Complete one of the following options, based on your existing SSO setup:

  • If you do not have an existing identity provider for SSO: Set up the platform as an identity provider using the Identity Service. The Identity Service enables your users to log in to the platform and your own applications by using the same credentials. To set up as an identity provider, see Setting up the platform as an identity provider.
  • If you already have an identity provider for SSO: Set up as a service provider using the passport service. In this case, your existing identity provider enables your users to log in to your own applications and the platform by using the same credentials.
