Namespace

All resources on the platform must point to at least one namespace, which is simply a unique string. Namespaces enable you to easily group and set permissions for resources, such as collections and files. This means that you can group resources from different services under one reference point.

The following figure shows resources from various platform services referencing a namespace:

The following figure demonstrates that resources in a platform service can reference different namespaces or more than one namespace:

A namespace is automatically created when you create a namespace provider, such as an application, workspace, or user group. For more information, see Namespace providers.
